摘要: Background: High-risk alcohol consumption among university students is well documented. Several types of intervention have proved to be effective in reducing consumption. This study examines the 2-year outcome 2 different programs at halls residence. Methods: Ninety-eight residence (with 556 students) were cluster randomized groups: a brief skills training program (BSTP) with interactive lectures and discussions, twelve-step–influenced (TSI) didactic by therapists trained 12-step approach, control group. All completing baseline assessment received personalized feedback mail. Students responded mailed follow-up questionnaires after 1, 2, 3 years, including use disorders identification test (AUDIT; years 3), short index problems (SIP), estimated blood concentration (eBAC). Results: groups significantly reduced their AUDIT scores from second year follow-up, no significant differences between groups. Seventy-seven percent belonged population high-risk consumption, using cut-off 8 4 for men women, respectively. showed score reduction favor BSTP compared controls, had tendency show better results than TSI (p=0.06).
