摘要: Background Primitive neuroectodermal tissue in teratomas of testis has been reported the literature. A mixed germ cell tumor with a prominent neuroblastoma component dictating clinical behavior was found to be unique. Methods Tissue sections were stained hematoxylin and eosin, immunohistochemical, ultrastructural, cytogenetic, flow cytometric analyses performed on primitive testicular mass. Follow-up results at 2.5 years are included. Results The microscopic findings eosin slides showed cells composing majority neoplasm have features neuroblastoma. immunohistochemical stains positivity for neuron-specific enolase comprising neuroblastoma, transmission electron study corroborated these by demonstrating microtubules rare membrane-limited, dense-core granules cytoplasm. Flow cytometry hypertetraploid population large aneuploid DNA content. Cytogenetics revealed hypertriploid modal number 74 chromosomes. dictated fashion similar that adult neuroblastomas responded chemotherapeutic regimen designed treating Conclusions proved more aggressive than other elements this neoplasm. This finding suggests tumors showing should treated promptly aggressively chemotherapy.
