摘要: Currently, little is known about the pharmacological effects of new generation antipsychotic medications on perception emotion in schizophrenia. The present study was designed to compare risperidone versus haloperidol ability perceive 20 treatment-resistant schizophrenia patients, using a double-blind design. Measures included facial identification test (still photographs presented videotape), voice (audiotape), and an affect (brief interpersonal vignettes videotape). These measures were administered during final week baseline after 8 weeks medication. Risperidone treatment produced greater effect patients' compared with treatment. Additionally, all patients who received demonstrated improvement performance between retest, four nine haloperidol. When changes positive symptoms statistically controlled, results remained significant. findings suggest that resperidone may facilitate accurately emotion, which be mediated either directly by risperidone's action or perhaps indirectly its influence basic neurocognition.
