摘要: Coccoid green algae generally are difficult to classify because of their depauperate morphology, and for this reason many them have a complicated taxonomic history. In the present study we use analyses molecular sequence data demonstrate close relationship two coccoid taxa that undergone multiple transfers in past, argue recognition distinct lineage. We resurrect genus Chromochloris accommodate C. zofingiensis (= Muriella zofingiensis) provide regarding lineage's phylogenetic relationships other chlorophyte genera, especially Bracteacoccus, Chlorella, Muriella, Mychonastes, Pseudomuriella. addition, synonymize B. cinnabarinus Bracteacoccus minutus with zofingiensis, clarify identity three UTEX strains heretofore listed as Bracteacoccus.
