The influence of negatively charged heavy ions on Alfven waves in a cometary environment

摘要: Alfven waves are important in a wide variety of areas like astrophysical, space and laboratory plasmas. In cometary environments, the hydromagnetic range frequencies excited predominantly by heavy ions. We, therefore, study stability plasma hydrogen ions, positively negatively charged oxygen ions electrons. Each species has been modeled drifting distributions direction parallel to magnetic field; perpendicular distribution is  simulated with loss cone type obtained through subtraction two Maxwellian different temperatures.  We find that for  ( and   being respectively Doppler shifted ion gyro-frequencies ), peak growth  rate  increases increasing densities. On other hand, frequencies   (being gyro-frequencies) region wave growth
