摘要: Longevity plays a key role in the fitness of organisms, so understanding processes that underlie variance senescence has long been focus ecologists and evolutionary biologists. For decades, performance ultimate decline mitochondria have implicated demise somatic tissue, but exactly why mitochondrial function declines as individual's age remained elusive. A possible source intense debate is mutations to DNA. There are two primary sources such mutations: oxidative damage, which widely discussed by interested aging, replication error, less familiar most ecologists. The goal this review introduce biologists concept error current status research on relative importance senescence. We conclude detailing some gaps our knowledge currently make it difficult deduce wild populations encourage organismal consider variable both when interpreting their results viable measure include studies.
