摘要: Quantitative analysis of the spacing pools in bedrock and alluvial stream channels California, Indiana, Virginia, North Carolina suggest that tendency for streams to meander vertical (or third) dimension, as horizontal plane, is a fundamental characteristic many independent material type. Simple linear-regression correlation models reveal approximately 70% variability can be explained by channel width. Analysis 251 eleven streams, utilizing Kolmogorov-Smirnov goodness fit test one-way variance suggests hypothesis data from are same population cannot rejected at 0.05 level significance. Morphologic maps field observations incised sandstone, limestone, metavolcanic rock, syenite although these have much common with channels, there exist considerable differences certain aspects morphology. This results because control morphology locally may more significant than effects general processes tend produce rhythmic forms such riffles. However, local controls mask rather destroy third dimension meandering streams.
