摘要: Interest is growing worldwide among utility companies and governments of maritime countries in assessing the power potential tidal streams. While latest assessment for Canadian coastlines estimates a resource approximately 42 GW, these results are based on average kinetic energy flux through channel. It has been shown, however, that this method cannot be used to obtain maximum extractable electricity generation. This work presents an updated theory from channel linking bay open ocean. A mathematical model developed one-dimensional, non-steady flow varying cross-section. Flow acceleration, bottom drag, exit separation effects included momentum balance.
