摘要: RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) can control each step of the mRNA life cycle, such as splicing, nuclear export, stability, degradation, localization, and translation efficiency. Thus, RBPs modulate final amount protein level play an important role in fine-tuning many cellular processes. Surprisingly, specific to allow dynamic coordinated expression functionally related mitochondrial has begun emerge only recently. These define post-transcriptional RNA regulons that fine-tune gene expression, thus tailoring effects broad transcriptional responses demands or affecting biogenesis independently from de novo transcription. Moreover, a handful promote close proximity organelle. Here, we review molecular components these elaborate flexible mechanisms, discuss physiological implications regulation for function.
