摘要: High quality data on axial pile load tests in clay were selected from the public domain and put into a base. Subsequently, statistical analyses of these performed to firstly assess reliability current offshore design criteria and, secondly, develop statistically more reliable method. These reveal that ratio between average ultimate skin friction undrained shear strength (=alpha) reduces with increasing degree overconsolidation slenderness (=pile length over diameter ratio). Soil plasticity is shown have negligible influence this correlation. A simple algorithm accounting for parameters obtained analyses. Predictions capacity made using new method are be accurate than those conventional criteria.
