摘要: Serial peripheral interface (SPI) has been identified as a bottleneck in many wireless sensing systems today. SPI is used almost universally the physical connection between microcontroller unit (MCU) and radios, storage devices, types of sensors. Virtually all sensor nodes today perform up to twice bus transactions necessary transfer given piece data, an MCU must serve master transactions. To eliminate this bottleneck, we propose master-handoff protocol. After initiates reading from source slave device writing sink device, becomes slave, either or temporary master. Experiment results show that technique not only cuts data time half, but, more importantly, also enables superlinear energy reduction.
