Cosmic gravitational-wave background in a cyclic universe

摘要: Inflation predicts a primordial gravitational wave spectrum that is slightly ``red.'' In this Brief Report, we compute both the amplitude and spectral form of tensor predicted by cyclic or ekpyrotic models under assumption perturbations pass smoothly through bounce. The exponentially suppressed compared to inflation on long wavelengths. strongest constraint energy density in waves less than 10% critical at nucleosynthesis.
