摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter presents a discussion on antihyperlipidaemic agents. The connection of elevated blood lipid concentrations with the atherosclerosis problem has made development drugs an important topic in medical research. Atherosclerosis may be defined as degenerative changes intima large arteries, consisting focal accumulation lipids, complex carbohydrates, and products, fibrous tissue calcium deposits. insoluble lipids circulate liproproteins plasma, thus, term hyperlipoproteinaemia is more exact than hyperlipidaemia. lipoproteins classified by density, migration velocity electrical field, particle size, protein/lipid ratio, ratio constituent structure protein components. most widely used electrophoresis technique using paper, polyacrylamide, cellulose acetate or agarose characterizes four lipoprotein classes: (1) non-migrating, (2) beta-migrating, (3) pre-beta-migrating, (4) alpha-migrating. survey agents that are either use trial. Some compounds exhibiting close chemical relationship to these have also been discussed this chapter.
