摘要: A system (100) and method for estimating the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in a sonar environment determining effect of estimated SNR on ranging accuracy. The includes sensor (102), transmitter (103), receiver (104), plurality band-pass filters (106), cross correlator (108), data analyzer (110). (103) transmits pulse through transmission medium. (102) senses an echo returning from selected target (112), provides signal representing to which turn indication (106). (106) provide filtered versions performs correlation operations pulse. By analyzing output data, can determine peak variability within multiple frequency sub-bands, thereby allowing more accurate estimations noisy environments.
