摘要: Abstract The surface of semiconductor nanocrystals is one their defining features by virtue nanometer size. Yet the presently among most poorly understood aspects nanocrystal science. This perspective provides an overview spectroscopic work that has revealed first insights into nature surface, focusing upon CdSe nanocrystals. We focus on two processes in nanocrystals: kinetics trapping and thermodynamics core/surface equilibria. describe femtosecond pump/probe experiments which reveal signatures carrier at surface. also temperature dependent steady-state photoluminescence new suggest emission largely driven homogeneous broadening via phonon progressions. implications are electronic state bears similarity to quantized excitonic core nanocrystal.
