Effect of CeO2 and Sb2O3 on the phase transformation and optical properties of photostable titanium dioxide

摘要: In the present work, effect of individual additives calculated as molar fractions Sb2O3 and CeO2 (xSb2O3 range: 0.03–0.08 %, xCeO2 0.05–0.14 %), on phase composition, transformation, optical properties photostable rutile titanium dioxide was studied using selective leaching method, ICP-AES technique, XRD spectrophotometric analysis SBET measurements. The starting material hydrated dioxide. It observed that addition to TiO2 did not influence anatase-rutile but increasing caused a decrease in rutilization degree. Thus, acted an inhibitor transformation. presumably formation co-phase Sb with Ti. Cerium formed separate phase, CeO2, reacted partly titanium, probably creating co-phase, Ce0.8Ti0.2O2. Comparing colour modified according type additive introduced, it found had higher brightness lower white tone values when compared Sb2O3. relative lightening power grey were photocatalytic activity measured all samples either or very similar varied around value 21.
