摘要: This study sought to examine two gaps in the field of bullying research – (1) lack clear cut theoretical underpinnings and frameworks for examining process (2) oversight parent context studies on bullying. two-study dissertation examined role parents understanding bullying, victimization bystander behaviors using Belsky’s parenting model (1984) as a potential guiding framework. Study 1 relied secondary analysis with three waves longitudinal data from NICHD Early Child Care Youth Development test indirect effect maternal depressive symptoms through mother-child relationship quality. Findings indicated that there was small direct at grade 3 peer 5, but not Mother–child quality 5 negatively predicted 6, victimization. There were also effects increased decreased 6. no significant effects. 2, cross-sectional N = 143 fourth fifth graders their parents, hypothesized parent’s general specific self-efficacy related parental monitoring supervision.
