摘要: In spite of the recent publication various guidelines for treatment chronic bronchitis and obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), no studies have investigated whether or not they are being implemented by caregivers. Our aim was to determine what protocols patients with COPD most commonly applied general practitioners in Spain identify factors associated prescription certain drugs. A standardized questionnaire administered 268 working 17 autonomous communities Spain. The stratified sample respondents selected reflect population each community. Valid information on 2,414 collected. Men accounted 74% patients. Mean age 67 years (SD = 10). Lung function data were available 1,130 (47%) mean FEV1 1,523 ml (56% theoretical reference value). Patients without lung having signs severe symptoms had suffered more acute exacerbations generated visits emergency room their primary care doctors preceding year than who undergone testing (p < 0.03; p 0.001; 0.003, respectively). treatments often prescribed short-acting inhaled beta-2 agonists (56%), corticoids (47%), theophylline-containing drugs (43%), long-lasting (41%). tests received mucolytics (47% versus 27%, 0.001) fewer anticholinergics (20% 35%, 0.001). factor highly all severity measured dyspnea. Treatment practice many aspects show differences from current guidelines. Noteworthy is extensive use corticoid therapy adrenergic infrequent anticholinergics. lack poor pharmacologic management higher rates morbidity.
