Texas Middle School Choral Directors’ Beliefs About Repertoire Selection

摘要: Secondary choral directors often demonstrate a wide variety of organizational, instructional, and musical skills to promote nurture thriving programs. Among the many tasks executed, choosing repertoire might be viewed as one most important duties performed. Material chosen for study is vehicle through which curricular concepts are taught. Multiple factors influence middle school directors’ beliefs about choices. Ironically, choices or not reflect educators’ actual teaching philosophies; nevertheless, these decisions could student learning. This surveyed stratified random sampling Texas who participated in 2010 University Interscholastic League Concert Sight-reading competition (n = 209). Seventy study.
