ac impedance analysis of a Ni-Nb-Zr-H glassy alloy with femtofarad capacitance tunnels

摘要: A Nyquist diagram of a (Ni0.36Nb0.24Zr0.40)90H10 glassy alloy shows semitrue circle, indicating that it is conducting material with total capacitance 17.8 μF. The Bode plots showing the dependencies its real and imaginary impedances, phase on frequency suggest simpler equivalent circuit having resistor in parallel capacitor. Dividing (17.8 μF) by single tunnel (0.9 fF), we deduced this has high number dielectric tunnels, which can be regarded as regular prisms separated from electric-conducting distorted icosahedral Zr5Ni5Nb3 clusters an average 0.225 nm.
