摘要: Abstract A scenario of insufficient biosecurity adoption in dairy herds has been pointed out. This may pose risks to animal and human health, besides raising concerns about compromised productivity welfare. The objectives our study were explore the understanding Danish farmers regarding factors motivating limiting their measures. Sixteen face-to-face interviewed through extensive semi-structured interviews investigate perceptions attitudes towards biosecurity. Conventional organic from different regions Denmark, who required or not comply with a specific legislation, took part study. thematic analysis based on phenomena expressed by was performed. Recognized practices prevent introduction spread infectious diseases broadly discussed farmers, e.g. maintenance closed herd status routines ensure improved hygiene when handling animals facilities. However, we identified expressing relaxed under situations such as herd's location region supposedly less threatened diseases, need for increased size, values related keep farming system without excessive restrictions. Other potential constraints correct included difficult communication between employees visitors, lack knowledge infection routes, financial limitations. received information several sources, veterinarians being considered main trusted one. When described adopted measures, they emphasized combating locally important that endemic, government control programs, had recent outbreaks, i.e. mastitis, digital dermatitis, salmonellosis mycoplasmosis. Contrary previous report, all develop plan according legislation stated it. Beneficial views appeared way guarantee mutual among whereas others believed might be needed. Findings this showed that, general, aspects recognized farmers. Despite this, measures present.
