摘要: This chapter discusses the role of surgeon in diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment decision making for head neck cancer patients. The key point planning is often whether to proceed with nonsurgical therapy (i.e., chemotherapy radiotherapy, combination), or surgery. When two options have equivalent oncologic outcomes, comes down several factors. These include tumor characteristics, patient factors, physician/treatment center preferences. With all these considerations mind, recommendations come after discussions at multidisciplinary conferences.
