摘要: • The entire mucosa from 30 normal frontal sinuses was removed, stained by the whole mount method, and density of goblet cells mucous glands determined. There an average 6,300 per square millimeter without statistically significant differences between various walls. were small seromucous. In 87% sinuses, gland less than 0.2 millimeter, total count did not exceed 40. This represents a totally negligible mucus production, which must be derived predominantly cells. proved significantly higher in inferior parts sinuses. findings are discussed relation to other areas respiratory tract.
