摘要: Abstract Forest management activities can reduce ectomycorrhizal fungus diversity and forest regeneration success. We examine contrasts in structural retention as they affect sporocarp production of fungi (EMF)—a functional guild organisms well suited indicators disturbance effects on below-ground ecosystems. Our results are from an experiment that tests the biodiversity assumptions behind current guidelines for ecosystem management. Ours is first study complete with pre-treatment data examines silvicultural manipulations both epigeous (mushroom) hypogeous (truffle) by EMF. tested two patterns (aggregated [A], dispersed [D]) four levels (100, 75, 40, 15%) green-tree standing-crop biomass spring fall fruiting seasons. This employed a randomized block design replicated six treatments three locations (blocks). A total 150 mushroom taxa 58 truffle were identified sample plots. Before treatment, number each treatment ranged to 72 while 22 29. The condition was characterized exceeding blocks. Although experimental units within blocks selected apparent similarity, our show uniformity EMF populations forests cannot be inferred stand structure alone. During post-treatment period, detected 100% decreased 34% increased 20%. reduced most 15%D followed 15%A treatment. 75%A showed least reduction taxa. After declined all treatments, but these varied season Sporocarp nearly eliminated Mushroom significantly though maintained at 33% value. No effect or standing crop 40%D lend support use combination aggregated when maintaining goal. Such mix would ameliorate clearcutting demonstrated this may maintain higher aggregates reducing edge effects.
