摘要: We reviewed retrospectively the outcomes of interventional endovascular treatment direct or dural (indirect) carotid cavernous fistulas in 24 consecutive patients requiring at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital between 1994 and 2009. Data was collected from each patient’s neurological, ophthalmological radiological reports. Of 12 with all had signs orbital ocular venous congestion ophthalmoplegia; nine also reduced vision ranging 6/9 to nil perception light, two normal one unconscious. Nine were embolized transarterially, transvenously, by a combination both approaches successfully closed. After treatment, seven complete nearly restoration vision, while who presented light (one eyes) no recovery vision. In contrast, ophthalmoplegia, three down 6/24 did not have any sign congestion. Vision recovered after embolization fistula. Dural transvenously 11 transarterially patient. Apart other symptoms rapidly resolved closure fistula patients. The diagnosis delayed being missed either during first admission specialist consultation fistulas, fistulas. One patient another limited cerebral infarctions embolization. this series, cavenous restored visual loss 10 loss. recover delay 6 weeks. Some degree ophthalmoplegia tended remain. This emphasizes need for early before becomes severe.
