摘要: Echocardiography is the most common diagnostic method for assessing atrial function but technique has some limitations. Traditionally, assessment of left been performed by measuring volumes with 2D echocardiography. Additionally, it can be assessed transmitral Doppler and pulmonary vein Doppler. Recently, an alternative incorporated, namely, measurement myocardial deformation color tissue Doppler-derived strain. However, this several limitations, such as suboptimal reproducibility, angle-dependence, signal artifacts fact that only measures regional strain does not obtain information about curved portion roof. To overcome these limitations in quantification function, use speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) proposed. This derived from rather echocardiography; angle-independent allows one to measure global well In editorial, we describe physical pathophysiological concepts STE underline clinical usefulness new technique.
