Induction of avian tumor viruses in normal cells by physical and chemical carcinogens

摘要: Abstract Avian tumor viruses were induced in normal chicken cells treated with ionizing radiations or chemical carcinogens and mutagens. The leukosis possess a buoyant density, DNA polymerase, polypeptides, 70S RNA typical of avian viruses. Induced act as helper agents for the defective Bryan high titer strain Rous sarcoma virus one exception belong to subgroup E judged by host-range, interference, neutralization patterns. Induction was successful lacking “natural” group specific (gs) antigen well carrying this antigen. This observation indicates that viral genome is present gs+ gs− cells. Therefore, chromosomal locus which controls presence natural gs does not represent itself but regulates its expression These findings have implications origin theories carcinogenesis.
