摘要: Potassium bromate (KBrO3) has been used widely for water disinfection, hair coloring, oxidizing agent in food, food additive bread making process as maturing agent, and dough conditioner flour. This study was carried out to investigate the effects of two doses (150 300 mg/kg) ethanolic extract strawberry leaves on antioxidant capacity liver, kidney testis, thyroid hormones, function rats treated with potassium toxic free radical producer compound. Forty-eight male were divided: group 1 served control, 2 oral dose (150 mg/kg), 3 (300 mg/kg), 4 (20 mg/kg), 5 (150 mg/kg) 6 (300 mg/kg) (20 mg/kg) 4 weeks. Determination thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS), glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD) kidney, testis tissues. Measurements serum total protein, albumin, urea, creatinine, triiodothyronine (FT3), thyroxine (FT4), insulin. Administration induced significant increase TBARS; decrease GSH SOD tissues; non-significant protein albumin; FT3; FT4 showed improvement some studied parameters. In conclusion, protective effect may be attributed its property.
