摘要: The sediment sequences retained by landslides and check dams on the Chinese Loess Plateau (CLP) are ideal for tracing historical catchment erosion, hydrological events land use. This study explored a geochemical proxy to plot visible non-visible deposition couplets in sequence from CLP, order better trace soil erosion associated with rainstorms. An intact core (JB-2) was acquired palaeolandslide-dammed reservoir Jingbian County, Shaanxi Province. high-resolution elemental distribution of entire generated an Anaatech XRF Core Scanner. water content grain size were analysed discrete samples representative section. Rb/Zr ratio recommended as plotting couplets. Annual freeze–thaw layers among then identified correlation between Ca/Zr Fe/Zr ratios. As result, 41 18 annual JB-2 sequence, indicating that rainstorms occurred over 18 years during survival reservoir. Furthermore, ranges couplet specific yields 0.06–3.09 × 104 t km−2 0.06–3.42 × 104 t km−2 year−1 reservoir, respectively. High combined consequence high rainfall frequency rainstorm intensities. highlights use plots providing basis reconstruction recent contemporary records determining implication past intensities frequencies CLP.
