摘要: Distinguishing small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) from other types of focal lesions that occur in a cirrhotic liver can be difficult on the basis morphologic features alone. We investigated whether expression glypican-3 (GPC3) could an ancillary tool histopathologic diagnostic process. performed immunohistochemistry for GPC3 16 low-grade dysplastic nodules, 33 high-grade 13 nodular hyperplasia-like and 59 HCCs with diameter less or equal to 3 cm present 66 patients. Both resected biopsied by needle were included nonlesional parenchyma was also stained. In subset cases (23 samples cirrhosis, 4 5 2 18 HCCs), real time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction performed. was, both reaction, much higher than cirrhosis lesions, indicating transition premalignant HCC is associated sharp increase majority cases. The sensitivity specificity positive GPC3-staining diagnosis 0.77 0.96, respectively, cases, 0.83 1, biopsies. Because result staining easily interpretable, valuable cirrhosis.
