摘要: SUMMARY Background: Recent studies suggest the important role of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) in etiopathogenesis major depressive disorder (MDD) and mechanism action antidepressants. This study aimed to correlate serum levels BDNF clinical symptoms patients with MDD before after 6 months treatment escitalopram. Subjects methods: Twenty women diagnosed 20 aged-matched healthy female controls were recruited. The received escitalopram 10-20 mg/day. measured at inclusion, week 4, 12 24. Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) was used assess severity evolution patients. Statistical analysis performed using both observed cases last observation carried forward. Results: At baseline, low associated MDD. In MDD, seems have a positive effect on parallel response. Conclusions: suggests that good under might be increases
