摘要: This paper illuminates how a journal and its editor can initiate foster stream of high quality influential research in novel area. It does this by analysing Accounting, Organizations Society's (AOS's) Anthony Hopwood's nurturing into key aspects accounting for social sustainability several decades before area became established. Our discussion unveils the initiation unique areas may initially involve publication risky papers driven primarily passion. Through steering editor, subsequent work proceed to combine passion with academic rigour produce insights that benefit society positively influencing policy practice. is attention we argue needs be central future (and more broadly) if it continue producing purposeful knowledge.
