摘要: The energies for both screw and edge dislocations in rock salt have been investigated. effect of elastic anisotropy has incorporated into the contribution from region outside core. Detailed calculations carried out cores themselves as a function radius, joined smoothly to curves theory. core are based on Born-Mayer model employ formulas Madelung potentials rows uniformly spaced charges. For observed plane slip (110), constant term associated with energy is 1.0\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}${10}^{7}$ ev/cm more than screw. Approximate show this be appreciably larger dislocation (100) plane. Also, there appears large lattice potential barrier motion arising anion closed shell repulsion. This result may explain why these planes, though close packed, generally not active glide alkali halides. stability Burger vector longer minimum translation possibility hollow also considered.
