摘要: High-resolution ultrasound of the carotid arteries allows measurement intima-media complex in arterial wall, according to a validated method, and thickness (IMT) is most widely accepted noninvasive marker subclinical atherosclerosis. New echo-tracking techniques may allow more precise common IMT. The presence plaque has greatest prognostic significance. Ultrasound methodology manifest benefits, being real time, noninvasive, low cost, reliable, safe.
