摘要: A high correlation between continuous measures of self-reported and measured weight height has led investigators to infer that self-report these variables is appropriate in epidemiologic studies. We evaluated the sensitivity specificity categorical definitions body mass defined using on 7,455 adult participants Lipid Research Clinics Family Study (1975-1978) whom both were available. The definition obesity used here was a index at least 30 kg/m2. Overall, obese category when with 74% (95% CI = 72%-76%), 99%. sensitivities categories varied considerably by sex, age, educational level. higher for women compared men, as men less accurate reporting height. decreased increasing age education women. elderly below 50%. These results suggest substantial misclassification can occur information define categories.
