摘要: Adaptive radiations, whereby a number of species exhibiting ecological specializations arises from common ancestor, have been an important focus for evolutionary studies. While traditionally investigated the perspective ecology research into adaptive radiations has also become area developmental biology (i.e., evo-devo). This follows historical tradition where persistent but steady minority researchers interested in underlying mechanisms adaptation. Vertebrate taxa particular this with topics such as phenotypic plasticity providing early ground ecologists and biologists. Here, author focuses on how evo-devo merged itself studies divergence provide several examples key systems (e.g., fish, birds, herpetofauna). involves both thinking its methods taken study radiations. We are now at precipice evo-devo, seem to be merging it is discussed new transition being aided by radiation.
