摘要: Abstract Leafing phenology is an important component of climatic adaptation in semi-arid regions. The questions are to what extent under genetic control and represent local climates? In the present study, we compare leaf among Adansonia digitata L. trees 27 different origins from West East Africa test if differences follow clines. Timing bud burst was largely synchronized with start rainy season, but some few individual showed before first rain. senescence substantial origins. timing for at end season beginning dry season. Differences were related variation drought just before- months sites origin. Populations drier had earliest shed common site indicating that have been adapted prevailing conditions We discuss results light possible triggering factors.
