摘要: Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are rare, but remain the most common GI mesenchymal neoplasms. In present study, six cases of GIST reported, and one these cases, a patient with esophageal GIST, is reported in-depth. Certain recent developments in clinical therapy GISTs also discussed. The records all surgically-resected treated at Al-Hada Military Hospital between January 2007 December 2012 were reviewed. There surgically resected during this time period, three males females, mean age 69.3±16.4 years. stomach was involved 66.7% small intestine 16.7% esophagus, which an extremely rare site, cases. symptom presentation abdominal pain, followed by bleeding. tumor size 8.7±6.3 cm. Four patients classified as possessing high-grade variant, administered tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). Following follow up 31 months, no recurrence mortality detected. Complete surgical resection tumor-free margins standard treatment for GISTs, TKIs should be used adjuvant if risk progressive disease high.
