Surgeon Practices and Attitudes toward the Control of Surgical-Site Infections in Jordan

摘要: The purpose of this study was to determine the attitudes and practices Jordanian surgeons on control surgical-site infections, evaluated by Center Disease Control’s guidelines toward prevention in addition gaining respondents opinions infection Jordan. This conducted through distribution 75 questionnaires given at five hospitals Additional insight SSI gained interviews with two cardiac three directors. results survey were compared for guide surgeon compliance international recommended patient antiseptic bathing, setting method hair removal, use antibiotic prophylaxis, measuring respondents’ views their own preoperative, intraoperative, postoperative protocol. Of surveys distributed, 57 returned indicating a 76% response rate. Survey suggest that significant portion surveyed not CDC guidelines, only 47.4% recommending preoperative 29.8% removing operating room, 57.1% using clippers as means prior surgery, 12.3% prophylaxis regularly. Yet, when questioned how well they follow protocol, 61.4%, 73.7%, 72% respectively rated adherence these “excellent” or “very good”. These need more education infections attending surgical residents effective surveillance programs hospitals.
