Pulse height decrease in a single-crystal CVD diamond detector under gold ion beam bombardment

摘要: A charged-particle detector was fabricated using a single-crystal diamond grown by chemical vapor deposition to examine its radiation hardness under heavy-ion bombardment. The irradiation dose dependence of the output pulse height from during gold ion beam bombardment at an energy 7 MeV investigated. signals decreased with increasing amount irradiation, and not recovered after applying reverse-bias voltage. In addition, although only small amounts vacancy charge density generation inside were estimated found be less than those in Si Monte Carlo simulation Stopping Range Ions Matter, did show superior detector.
