摘要: The three Golgi fractions isolated from rat liver homogenates by the procedure given in companion paper account for 6-7% of protein total microsomal fraction used as starting preparation. lightest, most homogeneous (GF(1)) lacks typical "microsomal" activities, e.g., glucose-6-phosphatase, NADPH-cytochrome c-reductase, and cytochrome P-450. heaviest, heterogeneous (GF(3)) is contaminated endoplasmic reticulum membranes to extent approximately 15% its protein. taken together nearly all UDP-galactose: N-acetyl-glucosamine galactosyltransferase parent fraction, 70% activity original homogenate. Omission ethanol treatment animals reduces recovery half. transferase associated with elements, not their content. Galactose transferred only but also an unidentified lipid-soluble component.
