摘要: Purpose Proximal femoral extracapsular fractures with associated ipsilateral hip dislocation is an extremely rare pattern of injury. These may be a spectrum severity from isolated trochanteric to comminuted intertrochanteric and subtrochanteric dislocation. To date, this injury not described in any classification system no clear cut guidelines for the same are available. The aim review provide evidence based pooled analysis existing literature develop that help surgeons tackle pattern. Methods A comprehensive was undertaken using PRISMA. Case reports series Extracapsular proximal fracture dislocations published PubMed, EMBASE, Springer, OvidSP, ScienceDirect, Web Science Google scholar between inception journals May 2020 were included review. comparing demography, fracture, mode mechanism clinical radiological outcome complications performed. Results 52 cases 46 case studies analysis. There near significant association avascular necrosis mean time reduction (p = 0.0865). Individuals compound had 10.12 times higher risk 0.009). No femur incidence 0.116, chi-square). polytrauma poor outcomes. 0.231). Conclusions Principles damage control orthopaedics should followed unstable patients Percutaneous Schanz screw manoeuvre can attempted gently low threshold perform open reduction. Every attempt at salvaging fractured must performed young individuals arthroplasty standby unreconstructable cases.
