摘要: Abstract Molybdena-alumina catalysts have been studied by both chemisorption and spectroscopic methods to relate their surface properties catalytic function. IR studies of the OH region CO2 used determine variation in exposed alumina area as a function Mo loading, and extent reduction. NO chemisortion has selective probe molybdena portion surface. The data show that H2 reduction decreases coverage with suggests this phase undergoes rearrangement concomitant agglomeration. These processes are accentuated sulfiding. effects loading on ease sulfiding were characterized found be different. little change nature sites upon Catalytic reactions ethene, propene 1,3-butadiene or D2 studied. Although changes rate occurred sulfiding, tracer experiments revealed these did not alter reaction mechanisms. activity could entirely attributed active-site concentration rather than sites.
