摘要: This report describes the design and synthesis of a zwitterionic [Boc-L-methionine-(2-methacryloylethyl)]sulfoniopropanesulfonate (METMASPS) monomer derived from methionine followed by its subsequent RAFT polymerization in water to produce polymer (PMETMASPS). The aqueous METMASPS solution exhibits transparent turbid transitions near isoelectric point (5.75) upon switching pH anything below 4.8 4.8–6.8 above 6.8. Furthermore, range 4.8–6.8, this suspension transforms into showing clear upper critical temperature (UCST)-type phase transition. However, is soluble at any value ranging 1 12, but turns exhibiting soluble–insoluble transition addition different kosmotropic anions such as SO42−, Ct3−, H2PO4− Ac− Hofmeister series. colloidal containing anion becomes distinct UCST-type heating. cloud (Tcp) tunable with respect molecular weight concentration ions well pH. Finally, antifouling property as-synthesized PMETMASPS studied against resistance towards model protein, bovine serum albumin (BSA) through monitoring anti-aggregating behaviour via DLS compared that poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG).
