摘要: Plants use light to fix carbon through the process of photosynthesis but also causes photoinhibition, by damaging photosystem II (PSII). can usually adjust their rate PSII repair equal damage, under stress conditions or supersaturating light-intensities damage may exceed repair. Light-induced chloroplast movements are one many mechanisms plants have evolved minimize photoinhibition. We found that achieve a measure photoprotection altering distribution photoinhibition depth in leaves. When chloroplasts low-light accumulation arrangement greater proportion occurs near illuminated surface than for leaves where high-light avoidance arrangement. According our findings increase overall efficiency leaf at least two ways. The alter profiles within maximize photosynthetic output and same time redistribute throughout reduce amount inhibition received individual prevent decrease potential.
