Behavioral Impact of Disaster Education: Evidence from a Dance-Based Program in Indonesia

摘要: Abstract Despite its potential role in reducing disaster mortality, the rigorous evaluation of impact education on children's responses, such as evacuation behavior, is scarce. This study examines a newly introduced Indonesian program students' earthquake response. The carefully designed based psychological theories and anecdotal lessons from different countries. It also easy to understand cost-effective. Exploiting fact that treatment schools for pilot were selected two observable criteria, we employ propensity score weighting estimation. results show positive effects perception regarding ability cope with risk likelihood taking appropriate response during an earthquake. participants are more likely self-learn have higher knowledge risks. Furthermore, there exists significant effect even among students poor learning attitude at school. feature preferable developing countries, those residing disaster-vulnerable areas tend educational background.
