摘要: Highly precise (σ ∼1 mm) temporal deformation measurements are taken across the Xianshuihe fault from two pairs of continuous GPS stations straddling fault. Baseline vector changes show clearly difference in behavior between Qianning and Daofu segments fault: former deforms steadily, latter with a strong transient component. The segment is possibly related to its irregular geometry, where splits into branches, that is, east west branches. An attempt made interpret baseline using kinematic model composed brittle layer upper crust, ductile lower transition zone between. slip south steady. slips zones north fault, however, not steady, average rates there higher than segment. probably associated rheological properties interface, suggesting overall strength greater those segments, corresponding longer earthquake recurrence time.
