Numerical and experimental analysis of a transmission-based breast imaging system: a study of application to patients

摘要: Early detection of breast cancer is required to increase the chances a successful treatment. However, current breast-imaging systems such as X-Ray mammography, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging have technological limitations so that novel solutions are needed address this major societal problem. The paper considers ultra-wideband (UWB) microwave radiation in frequency band from 1 9 GHz. Given by non-ionizing nature microwaves frequent check-ups more feasible. In work, we propose algorithms for qualitative quantitative transmission-based UWB system. Based on numerical experimental data, performance has been investigated compared. Finally, images obtained during an initial patient study discussed relative corresponding X-ray images.
