摘要: Abstract The combined influence of aluminum–silicon (Al-Si) alloys along with an in-situ titanium boride (TiB2) particulate reinforcement is beneficial for obtaining improved mechanical properties and physical properties. In this paper presented discussed the results a recent study on Al-Si alloy based metal matrix composites containing different volume fraction developed TiB2 reinforcements that were successfully synthesized using combination inorganic salts at temperature 800 °C. Noticeable enhanced properties, to include hardness tensile achieved in comparison unreinforced alloy. Microstructural characterization as-synthesized was conducted field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) x-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). Careful observation microstructure revealed observable change grain size due presence distribution reinforcing particulates through particles either hexagonal shape or spherical shape. use intermittent stirring during synthesis did exert overall composite material.
