摘要: The aim of this project was to investigate the effect Electrical Conductivity (EC) and increasing Pore Volumes (PV) on soils solid solution chemical equilibrium by analysis soil leachate. This is in order understand: 1. EC rate attained. 2. number PV’s required reach with vastly different properties. Three were studied percolating solutions varying (0.5, 1, 2, 4 8 dS/m) through cores collecting leachate. leachate analysed using an AAS for sodium, magnesium potassium concentrations, along testing determining HC. From experimental investigation, it observed that increased amount cations replaced per PV. Furthermore, ion exchange generally decreases as increases. Processes such models (diffusion or mass transfer), interlayer collapse from 2:1 clays, macropore preferential flow Vs. micropore effects considered, but require further investigation.
